Summary:
The Sr. Program Director of Strategic Initiatives will advance the objectives and vision of the Regulatory Senior Leadership Team (SLT). The candidate will provide directional and operational support to the global regulatory affairs organization and enterprise business needs. The Sr. Program Director will work closely with the Global Head of Regulatory Affairs, the Regulatory SLT, RA staff, and cross functional teams, to set strategies for management and harmonization of processes & systems, performance indicators, resourcing plans, and prioritization.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Drives the process of identifying, defining, and prioritizing functional and cross-functional initiatives; collaborates effectively with the Regulatory SLT, SMEs, and peers to ensure alignment and consistency with the overarching strategy.
- Direct or lead initiatives to optimize or establish cross functional ways of working and governance setup in support of product development and life cycle management.
- Develop and grow relationships with internal and external partners to facilitate ideation of opportunities for cross-functional optimization, securing organizational sponsorship to effectively allocate resources and implement solutions.
- Engage in strategic discussions and provide recommendations based on analysis with quantifiable opportunities to drive optimization.
- Proactively plans for and leads teams to develop and execute strategies and tactics to support operational efficiency and effectiveness, resulting in a step-change in overall performance of the Regulatory team.
- Develop a framework for prioritization and resourcing within Regulatory Affairs to support the growth of the pipeline and the business and support change management of the framework.
- Ensure measures for monitoring emerging issues, identifying the need for new or enhanced processes, and assessing success are implemented and tracked
Monitor progress against established Regulatory KPIs to assess trends in overall Regulatory Performance over time to inform future planning.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a scientific discipline. Advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years’ experience in regulatory affairs within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
- Project leadership experience in aligning cross-functional teams and driving processes forward.
- Process improvement expertise and experience desirable.
- Proven track record of leading and driving business process transformation and organizational culture change as well as delivering on programs with complex business deliverables.
- Exceptional communicator with ability to drive clarity during complexity.
- Excellent negotiation skills across levels within an organization.
- Experience in working with strategic partners/cross company collaborations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects.
- Excellent collaboration and relationship building skills.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills.

The hiring pay range for this position is $232,000 to $300,000 per year based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role. Other components of total compensation include a competitive equity grant at the time of hire (with additional annual grants, and grants upon promotion when applicable), and an annual bonus.
