Position Summary
The Manager, Medical Communication and Operations supports Medical Communication and Medical Education, as well as Medical affairs IT systems for International Medical Affairs.
S/he will work closely with the leaders of Country, Regional and Global Medical Affairs to ensure alignment with overarching global strategy across Medical Affairs deliverables. If required, in the scope of the Medical Manager International role is as well data- generation oversight and additional responsibilities such as EAP and IST management support. The role will interface with multiple internal functions and stakeholders including Country/ Regional/ Global Medical Directors, Medical Science Liaisons/ Medical Advisors, Clinical Development leaders, Commercial leaders, Value Access Payer leaders, Health Economics & Outcomes Research leaders, Regulatory, Safety, Legal Compliance as well as external partners and physicians in the community. This position reports into the Director, Medical Communication and Operations.
Principal Responsibilities
- Process Development & Optimization
- Supports SOP writing and further development in accordance with organizational needs
- Provide proactive recommendations when process or policy updates are needed
- Coordination of medical process trainings
- Medical Communication
- Support International medical/scientific conferences by managing materials
- Develop and maintain product, clinical, and technical expertise in the relevant therapeutic areas
- Supports Grants/Donation and Sponsorship process for International
- Act as Coordinator for internal medical material reviews and act as Coordinator for the approval of other materials, as needs may be
- Support of NPP/EAP program for International countries
- Support Medical Information team, as needed
- Regional and Country Advisory board planning and organization
- Publication Management / Medical Content Management
- Manage content develop process for regional, local publications
- Ensuring compliance with local and global policies
- Coordinating publication management and congress activities
- Tracking and archiving publications
- Additional Responsibilities
- Supports International Medical Affairs IT Systems implementation and oversight
- Maintains a strong understanding of internal and external publication, scientific engagement, and medical education/IME standards (globally and regionally)
- Collaborate with other members of the International Medical Affairs and the Global Medical Affairs organization and other functions
- Ensure compliance with all industry best practices, legal, regulatory, and Seagen corporate policies and procedures for scientific communications (publications and medical education materials) such as GPP3, ICMJE
- Other responsibilities as designated by supervisor
- Works independently to execute projects in alignment with strategy and budget
Qualifications
- Experience in the medical field or in the pharmaceutical industry (5-7 years preferred)
- Oncology experience strongly preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Strong leadership, collaboration, planning and project management skills, along with the ability to be productive with minimal supervision
- Strategic mindset including innovation and critical thinking with performance-oriented drive
- Awareness of regulatory landscape globally and provide appropriate guidance for the development of digital initiatives and platforms
- Proficiency with standard software including Microsoft Office, PubMed, Endnote, and iEnvision is preferred
- Must also be comfortable presenting to decision making bodies and gaining alignment on decisions and goals
- Ability to travel (International & US) approximately 15% of time
- Fluent in English and additional EU languages are a plus
Education:
- An Advanced Degree (MS, BSN, PhD, PharmD etc.) is required.
